What is MetaTrader?

MetaTrader is a popular trading platform widely used by retail traders and investors. It offers advanced charting tools, technical analysis, and automated trading capabilities via Expert Advisors (EAs). MetaTrader supports forex, futures, commodities, and other financial instruments, making it a versatile choice for traders seeking robust and user-friendly trading solutions. What is needed to setup the indicator and access the levels?

In order to access the Gamma Levels on MetaTrader you will need to set up the indicator and create a txt file with the levels for each of the tickers you are looking to plot. You can request the levels via the Dashboard or Quin.

How to set up the Menthor Q Levels in MetaTrader 4

Step 1. Download the Indicator

The indicator is available for Premium Members. Once you sign up for Premium you will find the download link in the Integration Section of your account.

Step 2. Open MT4 and Click File

Step 3. Click Open Data Folder

Step 4. Go to the MQL4 Folder

Step 5. Move on to the Indicator Folder

Step 6. Save the downloaded indicator in the Indicators folder (*ex file).

Step 7. Return to MT4, right-click on the Navigator Tab, and select Refresh.

How to set up the Menthor Q Levels in MetaTrader 5

Step 1. Download the Indicator

The indicator is available for Premium Members. Once you sign up for Premium you will find the download link in the Integration Section of your account.

Step 2. Open MT5 and Click File

Step 3. Click Open Data Folder

Step 4. Go to the MQL5 Folder

Step 5. Move on to the Indicator Folder

Step 6. Save the downloaded indicator in the Indicators folder. 

Note: In case of a zip file, kindly unzip the file containing the mq5 file in the Indicators folder.

Step 7. Return to MT5, right-click on the Navigator Tab, and select Refresh.

Your mq5 file will get compiled and your MT5 Indicator will appear in your MetaTrader 5. You can drag your indicator from Navigator onto the chart and Press Ok. Your indicator will be installed successfully in your MetaTrader 5.

How to create a file with MenthorQ Levels

In order to upload the levels in MT4 or MT5 we need to create a txt file with the levels.

1. Create the text file

1. In MetaTrader, go to File → Open Data Folder
2. Open: MQL4 → Files
3. Inside the Files folder, create a new .txt file (Use a clear name like: SPX.txt, GC.txt, NQ.txt)

2. Paste your levels

1. Open the .txt file you created
2. Paste the levels from Quinn or from our Dashboard

3. Use the correct format inside the file

Use this structure to create the file:

MT4: $ticker: level_name, price, level_name, price, …

MT5: ticker: level_name, price, level_name, price, …

P.S. For MT4 you will need to add the $ symbol before the ticker. For MT5 you will not.

Notes:

• Keep 1 file per ticker
• Separate items with commas as shown
• The ticker symbology needs to match what is on your MetaTrader Watchlist.
• For MT4 you will need to add the $ symbol before the ticker. For MT5 you will not.

4. If you trade multiple tickers at once

If you have (for example) 3 charts open with 3 different tickers, you must create 3 separate .txt files, one for each ticker (with different filenames).

Once loaded, you can combine multiple level sets in the same chart view, for example:

• EOD / Intraday
• Blind Spots (BL)
• Swing (SWING)

You can also change line colors and styles inside MT4 and MT5 to match your preference.
